Sarasota Memorial Healthplex to Host
The GAP School Gallery of Artwork for

November 16, 2007

Sarasota Memorial Healplex Fitness Center announced today that they will host a special event on Friday, November 16 from 5:30-7:30 that will feature the remarkable artwork by the students from The GAP School, 501(c)(3) organization.

The GAP School is a therapeutic intervention school that provides daily intensive educational, cognitive, developmental, and emotional training and support for students who need to refocus and reconnect with their learning potential. We also provide support, training, education and advocacy to our currently enrolled GAP School families.

Over the years, The GAP School has provided therapeutic interventions to a wide variety of children, adolescents and teens. The following statistics reflect the enrollment of the current year. It is important to note that these percentages are per diagnosis of the total population. (Please note that several students have multiple diagnoses.)
AD/HD = 33%, Dyslexia = 27%, Developmentally Delayed = 27%, Asperger and/or Austism = 13%, Emotionally Handicapped = 11% and CAPD (Central Auditory Processing Disorder) and other Processing Delays = 50%.

The event will include:
·     A Wine Tasting sponsored by Vino 100, along with appetizers and other     beverages
·     The GAP School Art Gallery and Greeting Card Collection
·      Opportunity to join and experience Group Exercise!
